Jacob Kraemer Tebes, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of The Consultation Center. Dr. Tebes is a Professor of Psychiatry (Psychology), Child Study Center, and Epidemiology & Public Health, at Yale School of Medicine, and Director of the Division of Prevention and Community Research. Dr. Tebes is also the Chief of Psychology at the Connecticut Mental Health Center. Dr. Tebes is a clinical/community psychologist who has considerable experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of prevention and community-based programs and service systems. His research has been funded by various federal grants (NIMH, NIDA, NCRR, CMHS, CSAP, ACYF), state agencies (Connecticut, Rhode Island), and private foundations, and is focused on: the promotion of resilience in at risk populations; the prevention of adolescent substance use through school and community-based interventions; prevention and evaluation research methodology; and interdisciplinary team science. Dr. Tebes teaches advanced seminars in prevention research methods, methods of community intervention, and clinical methods, and is the Director for the Yale Postdoctoral Research Training Program in Substance Abuse Prevention. Dr. Tebes is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Research and Action, and is Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Community Psychology.
